Essential Pathology
| This course is designed to give you a basic knowledge of pathology, the scientific study of the causes, mechanisms and manifestation of disease. Pathology is very much the basis of modern medicine, and medical doctors will have spent hundreds of hours studying pathology, in the classroom learning theory and in places such as the cadaver lab, where diseased organs and tissues are dissected and analyzed. Although it is a unique discipline, with its own experts and special subjects, it is really a marriage of several different disciplines, from clinical observations (including everything from physical assessment to microscopy to chemistry), to the related field of biology, the study of living processes.
